Above The Clouds

1024x768 Size: 101 KB

Mountains peek through the clouds at a spectacular sun.

Altitude

1024x768 Size: 214 KB

I have registered 'Terragen' and this is the first of many new landscapes I will be adding.

View at: 640x480 or 800x600 or 1024x768

Archipelago

1024x768 Size: 295 KB

This started out as one of many experiments in creating waves, but the waves became secondary as the islands developed.

View at: 640x480 or 800x600 or 1024x768 or 1600x1200

As The Crow Flies

1024x768 Size: 156 KB

Interpretive symbolism, what's it mean to you?
This image was created entirely in Bryce 5.

View at: 640x480 or 800x600 or 1024x768

Aurora

Aurora

1024x768 Size: 152

Solar particles react with the earth's magnetic field around the earth's poles to produce dancing lights in the night sky.

View at: 640x480 or 800x600 or 1024x768

Autumn

1024x768 Size: 414

This one took seven hours for the computer to render.  Apparently I went over board on the leaves.

View at: 640x480 or 800x600 or 1024x768

Autumn Sun

Autumn Sun

1024x768 Size: 492

A single leaf falls amid the suns rays, simple yet poignant.

View at: 640x480 or 800x600 or 1024x768

Back To Basics

1024x768 Size: 188 KB

The name hints at the fact that this image is made up of basic 3d shapes, even the balloon is a flattened sphere with an inverted cone underneath.

View at: 640x480 or 800x600 or 1024x768

The Balcony

1024x768 Size: 398

The valley and balcony were rendered in two separate 3d programs, and assembled in Photoshop.

View at: 640x480 or 800x600 or 1024x768

Beach Ball

1024x768 Size: 255 kb

I did this one on my laptop at my cousin's Super bowl party, I had a lot of backseat drivers drawing this one.

View at: 640x480 or 800x600 or 1024x768

Beacon

1024x768 Size: 173

I love how dramatic this one is.  I wanted more room to better see the lighting effects around the windows, but the composition worked better this way.

View at: 640x480 or 800x600 or 1024x768

Blizzard

1024x768 Size: 270 kb

A serene snow scene to soothe information superhighway road rage.  You can barely see it, but a photo of snow coved trees makes the forest appear thicker, Thanks to Dave of Dave's Photography for the photo.

View at: 640x480 or 800x600 or 1024x768

Blue Moon

1024x768 Size: 260 kb

The memory of a beautiful scene tends to exaggerate the key points, trees are taller, valleys are deeper, vistas are wider, and the moon is bigger.  I used a telescopic photo of the moon to get more detail.

View at: 640x480 or 800x600 or 1024x768

Blue Stream

1024x768 Size: 351 kb

The water looks so refreshing, anyone up for a swim?

View at: 640x480 or 800x600 or 1024x768

Canyon Crossing

1024x768 Size: 412 KB

I would love to hike something like this, although I would definitely need to get in better shape first.

View at: 640x480 or 800x600 or 1024x768

Cavern

1024x768 Size: 219 KB

A mysterious glow on a subterranean lake. This image started by accident, with the camera under the landscape, the strange view was too compelling to ignore.

View at: 640x480 or 800x600 or 1024x768
 or 1600x1200 or 1440x900 (Widescreen)

Cold Dawn

1024x768 Size: 247 KB

The warming sun rises over fresh snow. You can tell older snow on mountains because all the thin areas have melted away, increasing the contrast.

View at: 640x480 or 800x600 or 1024x768

Crater Lake

1024x768 Size: 362

The results of my first experiments with a new 3d terrain program I just discovered.  The moon was added in Photoshop.

View at: 640x480 or 800x600 or 1024x768

Dangerous Waters

1024x768 Size: 151 KB

A German U-Boat coasts through a naval minefield.

View at: 640x480 or 800x600 or 1024x768

Depths

1024x768 Size: 150 KB

Rather inaccessible, a large mysterious stairway climbs into the darkness.

View at: 640x480 or 800x600 or 1024x768 or 1600x1200

Doorway

1024x768 Size: 256 kb

The landscape is not as dramatic as I first envisioned, but I like how it all came together.

View at: 640x480 or 800x600 or 1024x768

Dry Season

1024x768 Size: 210 KB

This was a study of heat wave distortion using Bryce 4. I placed a bumpy glass object between  the camera and scene, for the wave like refraction.

View at: 640x480 or 800x600 or 1024x768 or 1600x1200

Dune Buggy

1024x768 Size: 178 KB

The Dune Buggy, dust clouds, and shadow were rendered in Bryce, and composited into the scene I rendered in Terregen.

View at: 640x480 or 800x600 or 1024x768

Eastern Sun

1024x768 Size: 358 KB

This started as a little garden, but I liked the textures of the and pots so much, what is left of the garden became a transition area.

View at: 640x480 or 800x600 or 1024x768
 or 1600x1200 or 1440x900 (Widescreen)

Eruption

1024x768 Size: 330 KB

This is a combination of two images. Terragen can't yet add the smoke and debris, so I did that part in Bryce. Which came out so well, it made me want to redo the Terragen part, but I had to stop playing somewhere.

View at: 640x480 or 800x600 or 1024x768

Glacier

1024x768 Size: 378 KB

I've been going back and forth working on this and another image. Apparently this one won, the other still has a few hours work to go.

View at: 640x480 or 800x600 or 1024x768
 or 1600x1200 or 1440x900 (Widescreen)

Gone Workin'

1024x768 Size: 214 KB

The pier was a section longer, but the fishing rod was lost in the background.

View at: 640x480 or 800x600 or 1024x768

Good Morning Sunshine

1024x768 Size: 724 KB

This image has around 300,000 sunflowers, all greeting the sun.

View at: 640x480 or 800x600 or 1024x768 or 1600x1200

The Greenhouse

The Greenhouse

1024x768 Size: 293

Anybody seen the watering can? The column is made from knot parts from Steven Abbott's Knots3d program.

View at: 640x480 or 800x600 or 1024x768

The Grotto

1024x768 Size: 225 KB

Wouldn't it be fun to have a basement room that looked like this? A great place for a pool party. Just don't fall in the big hole in the back yard while mowing the lawn.

View at: 640x480 or 800x600 or 1024x768 or 1600x1200

Hide Away

1024x768 Size: 244 KB

Another beach scene, probably the best so far. I like beach scenes on my desktop, so don't expect this to be the last.

View at: 640x480 or 800x600 or 1024x768 or 1600x1200

Hot Stuff

1024x768 Size: 429 kb

There is also a version of this image in the Sci-fi/fantasy category featuring a Gargoyle.

View at: 640x480 or 800x600 or 1024x768

House of Mirrors

1024x768 Size: 188 kb

Welcome to the carnival.  I was curious how something like this would turn out, and I am quite pleased with he results.

View at: 640x480 or 800x600 or 1024x768

Howler

1024x768 Size: 303 kb

Another popular moon image. Each time I put up another "big moon," I get dozens of requests for more.

View at: 640x480 or 800x600 or 1024x768

Ice Cave

Ice Cave

1024x768 Size: 105 kb

Using Bryce 5's new Metaball feature, this cave is created by showing the interior of a series of metaballs.

View at: 640x480 or 800x600 or 1024x768

Inland Sea

1024x768 Size: 199 KB

I never get enough of simple horizons full of water and sky.

View at: 640x480 or 800x600 or 1024x768

Islands

1024x768 Size: 285 kb

Most images have one thing that slows progress.  Everything falls into place except the lighting, point of view, or as in this case waves.  It took forever, but I am glad I stuck with it.

View at: 640x480 or 800x600 or 1024x768

Isle

1024x768 Size: 245 KB

I went camping over the weekend, so this was delayed a bit. I wish I could have camped on this little island.

View at: 640x480 or 800x600 or 1024x768 or 1600x1200

Ivy Bridge

1024x768 Size: 385 kb

I used Bryce's terrain editor to create the bridge, and the ivy. This image might animate well with GT Ripple.

View at: 640x480 or 800x600 or 1024x768

Jungle Ruins

1024x768 Size: 292 kb

This is based on a drawing I did years ago, so it's look is more reminiscent of that imagined drawing than actual Mayan temples. The Olmec head is fairly accurate.

View at: 640x480 or 800x600 or 1024x768

Jungle Rocks

1024x768 Size: 378 KB

I had hoped to focus on other categories, but I like this 'Scenic' image too much.

View at: 640x480 or 800x600 or 1024x768 or 1600x1200

Lake Sunset

1024x768 Size: 197 KB

This one started out with a blue sky, no mountains, and no lake. It changed slowly, and ended up much better than what I thought I was making.

View at: 640x480 or 800x600 or 1024x768

Lamp Post

1024x768 Size: 89 kb

Fun with fog.

View at: 640x480 or 800x600 or 1024x768

Lighthouse

1024x768 Size: 227 kb

I liked how the lenses on the lighthouse lamp affected the light, but I wish it showed up more in the final image.  Maybe I'll use it again someday.

View at: 640x480 or 800x600 or 1024x768

Lighthouse Bay

1024x768 Size: 277 KB

Busy, busy. It took me a week to get this image online. I need a guiding light to lead me through my workload.

View at: 640x480 or 800x600 or 1024x768
 or 1600x1200 or 1440x900 (Widescreen)

Lone Tree

1024x768 Size: 440 kb

I couldn't get much more complicated with the tree, Bryce has a limit to the number of polygons it will import. However if it did have more leaves, I think it would be less interesting.

View at: 640x480 or 800x600 or 1024x768

Long Road Ahead

Long Road Ahead

1024x768 Size: 196 kb

Every journey starts with a first step. On this road, lets hope that first step is into a vehicle.

View at: 640x480 or 800x600 or 1024x768

Mayday

1024x768 Size: 250 kb

My galleries need a bit more drama.
